Finding things to be thankful for is difficult in the best of times, but that’s why it’s so much more important in the worst of times. We know it’s been a challenging year and we have been looking for ways to make this holiday season brighter this year.
One of the ways you can help lift the holiday spirit is to practice gratitude. Once a week or so, you can write down or say aloud 3-5 good things that happened, or you enjoyed, put them in a notebook or app on your phone to refer to when you are feeling down. For instance, maybe you had an especially good cup of coffee the other day, or you made progress on a project you’ve been working on, or even just getting a good night’s sleep. Reckless positivity can be grating on the nerves, which is why it’s good to be thoughtful and acknowledge the difficulties while also embracing all the little good things about life. Gratitude can be as complicated or simple as you want to make it, but it is about savoring the good and having things you know you can look forward to. When Thanksgiving rolls around, you can read from your gratitude list and share the wonderful aspects of life with your loved ones!
It may very well be hard or impossible to travel to see loved ones this year, so why not find some other ways to show them you care. You can send them a letter or give them a call to talk about your favorite holiday recipes! We also have a wide selection of festive gift baskets with delightful gourmet items to suit every taste. From bath and body products to wine and plush animals, there’s a little something for everyone so you can really tailor your gift to the recipient and give them one more thing to be thankful for!
We would love to hear what you are thankful for, so if you feel up to sharing, please let us know by posting on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram with the hashtag #HazeltonsGratitude.
Happy Thanksgiving!
